Financial management ‘does not figure on Brits’ agenda’

Sleep Britons do not place financial management high on their agenda when it comes to activities in their spare time, according to research.

Data from fool.co.uk, found that about a third (32 per cent) would choose to sleep or do nothing in their spare time.

Furthermore, about one in five consumers (19 per cent) said they would like more free time despite not making best use of that given to them already.

David Kuo, head of personal finance at fool.co.uk, commented: “We all know that Brits work too hard and just don’t get enough free time – what’s surprising is just how much people are prepared to pay for as little as an extra hour a day.”

He added that small changes such as putting away five pence of every pound for saving could help one’s personal finances.

The news comes amid reports that lending in the UK dropped by 4.5 per cent to £207.8 billion in 2006 in comparison with the year before.

People who are concerned with the level of their debts may wish to seek out some help with their debt management.
