‘No debt problem’ for job change Brits

Article Category: Debt Management Help and Advice

Britons looking to change their career need not fear a debt problem, it has been advised.

According to Birmingham Midshires, financial worries are keeping many employees in a job they would rather leave.

Over a quarter (26 per cent) of respondents to a recent survey by the financial services provider cited monetary concerns as a barrier to finding a new job.

And almost a fifth (19 per cent) said they would be afraid of missing a mortgage repayment due to being out of work or taking a smaller salary.

“For those who are considering a career change and are worried about the financial strains of such a move, we would urge people to remember that just as there are a huge number of career options, there are also lots of mortgage choices out there,” asserts managing director of mortgages Tim Hague.

He adds that expert advice could assist homeowners in identifying the best mortgage for them ahead of switching to a new job.

The firm recently identified 55 as the age at which Britons are most likely to complete paying off their personal debt.
