BBA: Borrowing sliding as interest rates pick up
There is a growing demand for green credit cards among consumers, according to one expert.
Sandra Quinn, director of corporate communications at Apacs, says that green credit cards are becoming increasingly common due to increased customer demand for such products.
She adds that the credit card market is currently diversifying, with a range of new products now available such as charity credit cards.
Ms Quinn commented: “There’s quite a sea-change going on in the credit card market overall in the types of products they’re giving to customers.
“The current agenda, which is very green conscious, will be something that that market is very aware of. Credit cards particularly are very, very responsive to what customers want and if this is something that customers want I’m sure you’ll see more of them.”
However, consumers were warned that a lot of these credit cards do not come with zero per cent balance transfers as available from other products.
Consumers who are worried about the levels of repayments on their credit cards may wish to seek out a debt consolidation loan, which can tie up debts to numerous creditors into one affordable package.
